Given that North Carolina has mountains, hills, plains, and a coastline – not to mention sites of historical significance – then it's not at all surprising that there are so very many places for you to go in North Carolina. You can go to the coast and beach-hop if you like, visit each and every one of the beaches that line the coastline of North Carolina. If you're sick of beaches, you may want to go to the Piedmont area, where there are golf courses, trails for hiking and biking, fishing, shopping, and restaurants. As for the North Carolina Mountains, it is best visited if you're in the mood for winter sports, though it also has ideal bike and hike trails in the spring and summer seasons. This particular area also has the most spas in the state, and has some of the best historical structures for you to visit.
